Canada Day Festivities in Cochrane

June 29, 2015

Some of our favorite summer performances are at large events with food vendors, other performers, and crowds of families out to enjoy a good time in the (hopefully) sunny weather. We’ve performed on big stages with huge audiences – including the GlobalFest fireworks festival and the CJCA’s Japanese Omatsuri – throughout the years, and this year is no exception!

We have been fortunate enough to be invited by Cochrane Area and Events to be a part of the Town of Cochrane’s Canada Day SummerFest celebrations. The events will include “…traditional field games, entertainers, face painters, bouncy castles and the ever popular pony rides and more will all be part of the event that will offer afternoon family fun, something missing from our nation’s birthday celebration for years… Music is also a component of the afternoon. The contagious rhythms of traditional Japanese drumming by Midnight Taiko Kai and the upbeat band Low Tide will be playing intermittently and there will performances by local youth music groups like the Cochrane Glee Club and the Brady Academy of Irish Dance.”You can also read our featured article in the Cochrane Times titled “Japanese Drummers part of Canada Day fun” by clicking on the image below:

If you are in the Calgary area this Canada Day and don’t have any plans yet, consider driving out to Cochrane to celebrate with lots of fun for the family. SummerFest will be held at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site (Google maps) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015. We will be performing three times throughout the day at 12:30PM, 2:15PM, and 4:00PM.
